Managed Microsoft 365 backup for MSPs

We run the backups, restore-test them daily, and recover the data when something's lost. When a mailbox or file has to come back at 2am, our on-call does it while your techs sleep.

The running cost

What in-house Microsoft 365 backup quietly costs you

Microsoft keeps the lights on. It won't rebuild your client's content for you. Here's what carrying that yourself runs to.

In-house M365 backupWhat it costs
  • Expires

    Microsoft's retention isn't a backup

Recycle bins and retention windows expire. Once they lapse, a deleted mailbox or file is gone for good.

  • Thin margin

    Per-user licensing eats the margin

Backup licensing plus the hours your team spends managing it leave little margin on a service clients assume is already covered.

  • Untested

Restores nobody has time to test

Everyone agrees M365 restores should be tested. Almost no one has time to open a restored mailbox and check it came back.

  • One shot

One restore is the whole relationship

When a client needs a deleted email back for a dispute, the recovery is the relationship. A single failed restore can undo years.

How it works

We open the mailbox and check it came back

A job that reports success hasn't proven a restore. We keep one independent copy, restore from it, and confirm the data actually opens.

01

One independent copy

A separate copy of Microsoft 365, held outside Microsoft entirely, so a bad day on their side can't touch it.

Mail · OneDrive · SharePoint · Teams

02

Opened and checked

Items are restored and actually opened: a message, a file, a site. We don't stop at a “backup successful” line. The contents are what we verify.

restored · opened · checksum OK

03

Caught on the desk

When a restore fails overnight, our on-call catches it, re-runs it, and confirms the data came back before your techs wake.

Under the hood

Immutable copies, checked by real restores

Straight answers

The questions MSPs ask about Microsoft 365 backup

Microsoft's own retention covers short-term operational recovery. If ransomware encrypts a mailbox or someone empties deleted items, that retention can lapse before you need it. A separate copy, held off Microsoft's platform, is what covers compliance, legal holds and long-term recovery.
You watch it on a live dashboard: every backup and every daily restore test. Each month you get a white-labelled per-client report to hand over, covering what's protected, what we restored and checked, and anything we caught overnight.
You're not metered on storage. Whether a user has 10GB or 1TB, it's covered: mail, OneDrive, SharePoint and Teams. No metering, and no overage bills.
Yes. If your techs want to handle a simple restore, they can. For anything larger, or when you're slammed, ask us and we run it. Most MSPs just let us handle all of it.
When you remove a user from Microsoft 365, their backed-up data stays put for as long as your retention policy says. So a departing employee's mailbox and files are still there if you need them later, for a dispute, an audit or a handover.
